This 8 session course is designed to develop the skills to manage stress and difficult emotions, and to change unwanted patterns of behaviour. MiCBT incorporates mindfulness training with well established principles of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). Participants develop greater awareness and acceptance of their thoughts and bodily sensations, leading to a reduction in emotional reactivity. Evidence-based techniques help change behaviours and deep-seated beliefs. The training can be delivered to individuals or to small groups. The purpose of the course is to help people apply the practice of mindfulness in their daily life.
Participants will also be required to practice daily meditation sessions at home.
